Eyelet Love

Eyelet Love

I am a little behind the game, I know...but I just saw the Chloe Sevigny for Opening Ceremony collection and fell in love with all of the eyelet. So chic, and unconventional...totally Chloe's style. I have to admit I have a slight girl crush on her and the way she does not play by the rules when it comes to fashion. Her nonchalant hair, minimal makeup, and quirky style make her all the more adorable.

Lady Liberty

After adding spikes to shoes, a bracelet, and a comb
I thought, why not add some to a headband a la the Statue of Liberty?

Supplies you'll need:  Super Glue, Spikes, and a plastic headband.
I used this kind as I get headaches from anything too tight.

Measure around the headband, then decide how many spikes you want to add.
Space them accordingly, and glue away.
Make sure you hold the spike to the headband for 30 seconds a piece.

And here you have it.  A spiked headband.

I am going to wear mine with a big, teased up-do.  Nice.

Sasquatch, a DIY

I decided to add some feathers to these shoes after seeing this.

These shoes are so great on their own, but even more fun to add things like spokes and feathers to!

I used an ostrich feather boa and cut it to fit the shoes.

Measure from the ankle strap of your shoe to the middle of the toe strap and cut two equal pieces for each shoe.

Take some super glue and add a dab to the top and press the cut boa piece to it.  Hold for 30 seconds.
Do the same for the bottom making sure they are in the middle.

Then, you're done!  Enjoy wearing these beauties on the town!  I wore them Saturday night to dinner and I over heard someone saying I looked like I hot mess.  I took it as a compliment.

They're a little big foot looking...I might trim them, but I love them none the less.

Backless

I am a sucker for a backless shirt:

A pair and a spare initially gave me the idea.
Parties — Toasts and Tulle

So, I decided to make one:

I started by taking my measurements (neck, shoulder to hip, hips) and cut out two pieces of stretchy fabric.  I sewed a hem all the way around and added some snap closures at the top and bottom and...

 Ta-da!

It is certainly not perfect, but great for me on date night with my high waisted purple pleated skirt!

Friendship Bracelet DIY

I tried my hand at this tutorial and failed miserably at the Chevron pattern.  I need a lot more practice!  However, to hide the lack in friendship bracelet making skills I currently possess, I added spikes to it.

Add a few more accessories and you've got quite the envious wrist if I do say so myself...

Happy Tuesday!

Maxi Love

Maxi Love

Wildfox Couture oversized tee, J Crew short sleeve top, Diesel graphic tee, Mason by Michelle Mason maxi skirt, Maxi skirt, Glamorous maxi skirt, ASOS wide sandals, Oasis leather sandals, H&M flat heels, Aurélie Bidermann 18k necklace, Kenneth jay lane jewelry, AllSaints spike necklace

Over the weekend, I was inspired by one of my friends to try a different look.  She looked totally adorable in her maxi skirt, t-shirt, and funky necklace.  I absolutely have to try this look for myself!  Cool, effortless, and chic at the same time.  A little hippie meets tomboy with a glamorous touch in the necklace.

My friend finished the look with minimal makeup and a top knot bun.

She is planning on getting some fabulous maxi skirts in her store, yay!

It's the perfect summer look, in my opinion!

Fitness

Untitled #11

I've never been one that is a fitness guru, but I do (as of the last year) enjoy exercise.  I have found over time that everyone has the kind of exercise that works best for them, be it running, yoga, tennis, pilates, etc...  I happen to enjoy yoga (as you all already know) very much!  I also take cross fit and TRX style classes (that I barely keep up with and feel like I might pass out after each one).  These are equally as enjoyable to me because I learn something new almost every class I go to and challenge myself to get better and stronger.
This has to be the one area of my life that I HATE shopping for.  Which is strange, considering how much I love exercising now.  I will wear tank tops within an inch of their life and keep the same shoes until I blister.
So, naturally, I had to find pants that would work for both.  These leggings are my ticket, I tell you.  I don't like to work out in shorts (they tend to ride up and be awfully distracting...ie:  picking wedgies).
The only thing I change up between classes are my shoes.  I can't roll up to Crossfit with some slip on shoes...I'd slip and fall in an instant!  I am loving my Nike Free Runs.  They are light and perfect for these classes.  They also come in so many cute colors.  As far as the Sanuks.  Well, they're just awesome.  They are like bedroom slippers you can wear out of your house!
Hope everyone is having a wonderful week!
