I've been searching for the perfect fall bootie. The kids in my classes are dressing really cute for school and I feel like I need to at least make an effort. Rob told me when I first started school, "ah, they'll be in sweats--give it a week." Well, we are in week five, folks, and everyone is still dressing to the nines. I need to step up my game, literally. So, I've been scouring the Internet and shops for the perfect black bootie.
It can't have too much of a heel (sorry, House of Harlow...I wish I could be the girl to wear your heeled booties on a daily basis, but alas, in this situation, comfort is key). I never thought I'd look for a pair of shoes based on comfort (and aesthetics, come on) but walking around NYC has really changed my ways. No more heels (AH!). It hurts a little just typing that...ok it hurts a lot!
My day to day and weekend lifestyle has definitely changed since we moved. Rob and I have plenty of date nights and days, but most of the time we go from one thing to the next throughout the day, and by the time dinner rolls around, I am good to go in whatever I have on, which is usually a t-shirt and jeans. St. Pete Rachel would have had to go home first to shower, blow out my hair, and change into a really cute number. Don't get me wrong, I still want to look good for the husband...so I just make an extra effort in the morning to look pretty.
So, what'll it be, folks? While I dream endlessly about the Chloe booties pictured above, they will have to remain in my dreams until this college girl graduates and buys them for herself.
