I got the opportunity through Parsons to take a fashion drawing class--amazing! I was just so excited to be there. Our teacher for the session teaches fashion design at Parsons and FIT. We drew from a live model, and learned about how to draw different poses, and how to build on your sketches. The model changed into various outfits while the teacher gave demonstrations on how to draw. It was the best two hours I could have asked for. I was hanging on to every word the teacher said, and in the blink of an eye, class was over. It's amazing to think that school can actually be fun when you're interested in the classes. I can't wait to get through the Parsons first year curriculum so I can move on to fashion design.
All this to say, I feel like I really did things backwards by going to work right after high school. I took some community college and have most of the basics out of the way, but I have no regrets. I felt a little out of sorts today, when I went to another workshop at school and I was as old as the teacher. Oh well, I am just going to have to get over that! I have a long road ahead of me, but I couldn't be more happy to embark on this challenge.
