Wow, 2013 has been an absolutely amazing year. February was Rob and I's 5th anniversary, and I found out on Valentines Day that I was accepted to Parsons. We traveled to NYC to tour the school in April, and got engaged (best. day. ever).
A quick engagement lead to a July 12 wedding (also the best. day. ever.). Our wedding was just perfect, short and sweet at the courthouse. Saying those vows in front of my family to my husband was really a core shaking moment. The reception at my mom's house afterwards was just amazing. We ate pizza, drank champagne, and danced the night away. A honeymoon followed at the beach that weekend. I loved every single moment of it. We got massages (fancy), and walked the beach (nerds).
Then, lots of goodbye dinners, packing, more packing, a few tears, and off to NYC we went! I didn't really know what to expect when we moved here. Honestly, I'm surprised I didn't have a nervous breakdown. Looking back even just a few short months ago, it was a pretty crazy time. We stayed in a hotel for two weeks while we looked for a place to live (yikes!). Also, Rob had a few leads, but no job offers when we moved here, so that was another challenge. But, everything worked out. We found the perfect place to live in a relatively quiet neighborhood where I feel safe and sound. Rob got a job working for a company he really loves, and I became submerged in school. Seriously, I have to pinch myself every day and remind myself that it's not a dream, this is for real happening. I am so lucky to have a husband like Rob. Seriously, I am literally the luckiest girl in the whole world. I love him so much more every day. Our relationship has grown so much (I didn't think it was possible to get any closer but we did:) since moving here.
That's not to say everything has been rosy and perfect--we've had some challenges. This city is expensive, and I've never experienced a real winter before (eee!), but all in all, we are so happy.
Also, I got straight A's this semester. Boom.
Thanks, 2013…you've been great. I can't wait to see what 2014 will hold!
