The 29 year old intern

So, I started interning at Tibi this week, and let me tell's pretty much amazing.  I walked in on Monday, super nervous, but ready.  When I arrived, I was greeted by my boss (what do you call this...mentor, teacher, supervisor...?) who introduced me to everyone in the office.  Then, I was given an array of tasks such as rolling fabric, cutting patterns, steaming and ironing clothes.  That afternoon, my (let's just call him my boss) boss gave me a list and sent me to midtown where the fashion district is.  It's basically a zoo in that part of town, and not my favorite, but since my major is Fashion Design, I'd better get to know it well.  Over the last three days I have gotten to do so much, and I love it!

After such a short amount of time, I have been submerged in all things fashion.  I know I still have a TON to learn, and I haven't even scratched the surface yet.  I just feel like I am in the right place.  As I was cutting patterns yesterday, I was thinking to myself how happy I am to be here in this moment.  I don't mean to get all mushy, but I'm going to.  It's never too late to do what you have a passion for.  I am exhausted beyond words at the end of the day, but so happy.  Sure, it feels weird to be the same age as some of the people I intern for, but whatever.  They are super nice, and I am blessed beyond words to be able to do this.  Change is hard, but when you want something bad enough, you have to make it happen!

I am so ready for the Spring semester to start at Parsons so I can continue down this super fun, challenging road.  Wish me luck!
